The Mission of the MCU Sports Medicine Department is to provide outstanding sports medicine and athletic training services to the MCU Mariner athletes.

Athletic Training Room Rules:
Be respectful of others
Remove shoes before entering
Check in with Athletic Trainer for evaluation/treatment/rehab, etc.
Before leaving: sign yourself in on iPad (or your own phone), enter treatment & sign-out
Wear or bring a change of clothes for treatments
I.e.: shorts for treating a leg injury, tank top for arm injuries, change of clothes for whirlpool
Bring your own towel if you plan on taking a full body ice bath
Athletes must inform athletic training staff of any injury for proper evaluation and referral if necessary. Athletes must also disclose complete athletic injury history.
If there is no Certified Athletic Trainer present at time of injury the coach is responsible for first aid of the injured athlete. In the case of a life threating injury or serious injury where the athlete may suffer further injury if moved, the coach is to call 911 and notify the athletic trainer as soon as possible.
Athletes in need of outside medical services (i.e.: doctor visits, x-ray, MRI, therapy) due to athletic injury must obtain athletic insurance form from head athletic trainer. In the event of an emergency, notify athletic trainer as soon as possible.
Athlete must have the following forms submitted to be cleared by sports medicine department:
- Physical and Health History Form (turned in to head athletic trainer)
- Copy of insurance card, front and back (turned in to head athletic trainer)
To be completed at mandatory team meeting with sports medicine department:
- ImPACT baseline concussion test
- Drug and alcohol questionnaire (anonymous)
- Sportsware – create or update profile with medical information, contact information, emergency contacts, and insurance.
